Women's Golf in Fifth After Two Rounds of MAAC Championship

All five Pioneers sit in the top 23

BAY LAKE, Fla. – The Sacred Heart University women's golf team sits in fifth place after the second round of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship, hosted at Disney's Magnolia Course in Bay Lake, Fla.

After 36 holes of golf, the Pioneers own a team score of 612 (+36). SHU opened the event with a 310 (+22) before a 302 (+14) today. Quinnipiac widened its lead with a two-under 286 to sit at 585 (+9). Fairfield sits in second at +17.

Nahia Paulerena remains at the top of the leaderboard for SHU, sitting in a tie for 13th at 152 (+8). The sophomore carded back-to-back rounds of 76 (+4).

Maegan Pungsuwan and Jessie Burch are tied for 15th at 153 (+9). Pungsuwan climbed eight spots on the leaderboard after a team-best 74 (+2), while Burch had a stellar 75 (+3).

Maite Cantu and Garance Gueubel round out SHU's lineup in T21st and T23rd, respectively. Cantu owns a combined score of 155 (+11) and Gueubel is at 158 (+14).

The MAAC Championship wraps up tomorrow at Disney's Magnolia Course.
