Fairfield, Conn. – Senior Associate Athletics Director for Athletic Training Leo Katsetos announced the addition of Annie Montero to the Athletic Training Staff. Montero comes to Sacred Heart after completing her Master of Science in Athletic Training at UConn while serving as an immersion student at both Yale University and Boston University during the 2025-26 academic year.
During the 2025-26 year, Montero split her time at Yale for the fall semester working directly with the football program while joining Boston University for the spring semester where she worked with the women's track and field program. At Yale, she assisted in practice and game-day coverage and in the development of rehabilitation plans for injured athletes. During the spring at BU, Montero helped design individual rehabilitation programs while collaborating with team physicians and strength & conditioning and sports performance personnel to coordinate return-to-play decisions.
After completing her undergraduate work at the University of Tennessee in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology, Montero spent the summer of 2025 as an intern with the Jacksonville Jaguars. While completing her undergrad at Tennessee, she completed a pair of internships where she had the opportunity to work with the women's volleyball and football teams.
Additionally, Montero made two additional stops at UConn, first as a summer student assistant in 2024 and again as a student-assistant with the football program for its spring season in 2025. Montero also spent time as a student assistant at Eastern Connecticut State University (Jan. – Mar. 2025) and Manchester High School (Sep. – Dec. 2024).
