Hanna Lloyd was named head coach of the Sacred Heart University equestrian program in July 2024, taking over following the retirement of longtime head coach Tiffany Hajdasz. Lloyd previously served as the team’s assistant coach beginning in September 2023, bringing with her a wealth of experience as both a student-athlete and coach.

A standout competitor for the Pioneers during her undergraduate career, Lloyd competed in both Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) and National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) formats. She played a key role in Sacred Heart’s eighth-place team finish at the 2023 IHSA National Finals, where she also secured a fifth-place individual finish in Open Flat. That season, she also helped guide SHU to a runner-up performance at the IHSA Zone I Championship while competing at the ECAC Conference Finals and NCEA Nationals in Ocala, Florida.

Beyond collegiate competition, Lloyd developed a strong background in the junior, amateur, and professional circuits. She trained under leading professionals in New York and Florida and earned top ribbons at the Marshall and Sterling Finals, USHJA Zone 2 Finals, and the National PHA Finals. Her junior highlights include a top-25 finish at the Capital Challenge Horse Show in the USHJA Jumping Seat Medal Flat Phase and a top-five overall placement at the Junior Hunter Finals.

A 2023 graduate of Sacred Heart, Lloyd earned her degree in finance and management. Her deep familiarity with the program, combined with her extensive competitive background, positions her to continue the Pioneers’ growth and success in the ring and beyond.
