Senior Franco Cartiera an All-NEC Second Team Selection for Second Consecutive Year

FAIRFIELD, CT (November 14, 2002) - Sacred Heart senior Franco Cartiera (New Britain, CT) was named to the All-Northeast Conference second team for the second consecutive year this afternoon. Cartiera paced SHU in virtually every major statistical category including goals (10), scoring (20 pts./10 g), points per game (1.43) and goals per game (0.71).
The senior from New Britain, CT finished his career with having played in 65 games in his four years as a Pioneer forward, starting 60. He has netted 38 goals in his career while assisting on eight for 84 career points. He has led the Pioneers in scoring in every one of his four seasons at Sacred Heart. The Pioneers finished the season with a 2-14-2 overall and 2-7-1 in the NEC.
