
MEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO ROBERT MORRIS, 3-2

FAIRFIELD, CT (November 8, 2002) - The men's soccer team lost to Northeast Conference opponent Robert Morris, 3-2. Sacred Heart was led by senior Franco Cartiera (New Britain, CT), who scored both Pioneer goals.
The scoring was opened at the 11 minute mark in the first half by Danny Anderson, giving the Colonials an early 1-0 lead. Mike Delgreco extended RMU's lead to 2-0 at the 16 minute mark. Cartiera first goal came at 35:49 assisted by senior Cullen Mezerewski (Northford, CT). Cartiera tied the score at two off a pass from sophomore Jeff Monaco (Carmel, NY) at 66:42. The Colonial's Jaime Dodds broke the tie with the gamewinner at 70:20.
Freshman Jason Roeder (Independence, MN) made two saves in the contest for the Pioneers. Mike Ozdinek earned the win for Robert Morris, making two saves.
The Pioneers return to action Sunday, November 10th at 1 pm as they play host to conference opponent St. Francis (NY).
