
Men's Soccer Defeated In Double Overtime At Quinnipiac

HAMDEN, CT (October 31, 2003) - The Sacred Heart University men's soccer team fell to dropped a heartbreaker in double overtime at Quinnipiac 1-0. Abel James scored on a penalty kick in the 103rd minute to win the game for the Bobcats.
Three minutes into the second overtime period the Pioneers were called for a foul in the box that resulted in a penalty kick. James converted on the shot for the only goal of the game.
Bobcats goalkeeper Connor Schilcock-Elliot made eight saves and faced 15 shots in recording the shutout. Pioneers sophomore goalkeeper Chris Gray (Concord, MA) made one save in the match, facing eight shots.
The Pioneers will return to action on November 2 for their season finale against Mount St. Mary's at 1:00 PM.
