
Army Avenges Loss To Men's Ice Hockey With 2-1 Overtime Win

WEST POINT, NY (March 1, 2003) - The Sacred Heart men's ice hockey team lost to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opponent Army, 2-1 in overtime. Scoring the lone Pioneer goal was junior Mike Reagan (Flin Flon, MB) in the third period to send the game to overtime.
After a scoreless first period, Army captain Joe Dudek found the net at 17:09. Reagan's tally was assisted by freshmen Peter Giatrelis (Hamden, CT) and Bernie Chmiel (Pittsburgh, PA), and was scored at 17:08 in the third. Black Knight Chris Casey scored at just under a minute into overtime to give Army the win.
Senior goalie Eddy Ferhi (Charenton, France) made 16 saves in the contest. Black Knight goalie Brad Roberts made 35 saves, as the Pioneers out shot the Black Knights, 36-18.
The Pioneers return to action Thursday, March 6th, as they face-off against the Stags of Fairfield in the second game of the MAAC Challenge at Harbor Yard Arena at 8 pm.
