Shapiro Named Sacred Heart Student-Athlete of the Week

Fairfield, CT - Men's soccer senior forward Neal Shapiro (Vernon, NJ/Vernon Township) was named Sacred Heart Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of September 19-25.
Shapiro scored both goals in the Pioneers 2-0 win over Hartford Wednesday. His first tally came on a chip over the Hartford keeper in the 21st minute. The second came less the six minutes later, on a shot to the top right corner of the net following a cross off the foot of senior defender Glenn Wilken (Ridgefield, CT/Ridgefield). The goals were the first of the season for Shapiro.
In beating Hartford, the Pioneers have now won two games in a row to even their record at 3-3. They will open up a four game road trip Wednesday night at UConn.
