FAIRFIELD, CT - Senior pitcher Jay Monti (Marlboro, NY) was named the Northeast Conference Pitcher of the Week this week, after tossing a two-hit shutout against Notre Dame on Saturday.

The 2005 NEC Pitcher of the Year struck out four and did not issue a walk in downing five-time defending Big East champion Notre Dame, 3-0.

Monti was perfect other than allowing a first-inning double to Jeremy Barnes and a seventh inning single to Mike Dury. The senior has now pitched 19 innings this spring without permitting an earned run.
