Fairfield, CT - The Sacred Heart University cheerleading team took part in the American Liver Foundation's annual life walk. This is the fourth consecutive year the cheerleading squad has participated in the ALF walk and shown their support for liver wellness. The event was held September 26th along a five mile course in Stamford.
The purpose of the event, one of many liver walks around the country, is to raise liver disease awareness and reach out to people with the disease. The proceeds from the event go towards critically needed liver disease research and education. The walk in Stamford saw over 250 attendees and is rapidly approaching its goal of raising $2,000 towards research. The program was also designed to educate the public about the importance of the liver and to support its wellness.
