Box Score NEW YORK – The Sacred Heart men's soccer team was held to one shot on goal Wednesday night in a 1-0 loss to the Columbia Lions at Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium.
Sacred Heart (1-8-1) was held to four shots in the game, with just one on goal. Columbia (8-3-1) scored the lone goal of the game on a penalty kick from Joe Morris in the 41st minute. The Pioneers had three shots in the second half and were outshot 13-4 for the game.
Sacred Heart hosts Central Connecticut at Campus Field on Friday, Oct. 23 at 3 p.m.
FIRST HALF
- Columbia's Antonio Matarazzo hit the goal post in the 19th minute.
- Tucker Hackett made his first save of the game in the 28th minute on a shot by Jack Blattman.
- Ezra Siyadhuba had the Pioneers' first shot of the game in the 33rd minute, which was saved by Lions goalkeeper Kyle Jackson.
SECOND HALF
- Siyadhuba put a shot wide in the 55th minute.
- Dylan Santos put a header over the crossbar in the 57th minute.
- Hackett kept the game 1-0 with a save on a Gil Hong shot in the 65th minute
