
Men's Soccer Shut Out At Holy Cross Friday

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Sacred Heart men's soccer team was held to four shots Friday afternoon in a 5-0 loss at Holy Cross.
Holy Cross (1-1-2) opened the scoring in the 11th minute when Yuji Callahan scored from 18 yards out with an assist from Joey DeVivo. DeVivo scored three minutes later to give the Crusaders a 2-0 lead, and followed that up with another tally in the 20th minute. Holy Cross added one more goal in the first half to take a 4-0 halftime lead, and scored in the 64th minute to make the final score 5-0. Sacred Heart (1-3-1) had only two shots on goal for the match.
The Pioneers are back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 16 with a 4 p.m. game at Saint Peter's.
FIRST HALF
- SHU's first shot of the game came in the 23rd minute when Aaron Schwartz had a shot blocked
- Nick Zorbo put a shot on goal in the 32nd minute, with Holy Cross goalkeeper Kevin Wright making the save.
- Tucker Hackett made three saves in the final 13 minutes of the half
SECOND HALF
- Kieran Walsh put a shot on goal in the 10 minutes into the second half
- Jamal Vinson also had a shot on goal in the second half
- Kyle Clemens had a shot go wide of goal in the 82nd minute
