FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The Sacred Heart women's soccer team opened Northeast Conference play with a 3-0 win over Robert Morris on Sunday. The Pioneers (4-4-3) dominated on Campus Field, outshooting the Colonials (2-10) 14 to three. 

Sophomore Nicole Sambuco recorded her third straight clean sheet for the Pioneers, securing one save on the lone shot on goal for Robert Morris. Sacred Heart got things going with junior Kim McNally (Canton, Mass.) second goal of the season. McNally chipped in the ball off of freshman Rhone O'Hara's (Woodstock, Conn.) free kick pass in the 16^thminute. The Pioneers would strike again when sophomore Melanie DaSilva (Bristol, R.I.) scored from 12 yards out from an assist by freshman Caitlin Buckley (Levittown, N.Y.). DaSilva now leads the team with three goals. O'Hara would grab her second assist of the afternoon on a pass to senior Emily Dawidczyk (Oxford, Mass.), who made a move pass the goalie and fired it for the Pioneers final tally in the 84^th minute. 

The Pioneers will be back in action when they face off against Wagner on Friday October 7 at 12:00pm. 

First Half

- The first shot by RMU's Jane Schleicher hits the top of the crossbar in the 6^th minute.

- McNally got the Pioneers on the board with her goal on the free kick assist by O'Hara in the 16^th minute.

- Sambuco gets her lone save of the afternoon in the 39^th minute.

Second Half

- DaSilva records her third goal of the season from 12 yards out on the assist by Buckley in the 50^th minute.

- Dawidczyk seals the game with her first goal of the season off the assist by O'Hara in the 84^th minute.
