FAIRFIELD, Conn. -Junior Olivia Podsiebierski had an thrilling three set tiebreak win at first singles over Quinnipiac's Rachel Horton in Sacred Heart's 6-1 defeat at Quinnipiac.
Podsiebierski rallied after losing the first set 3-6 to win the second set 7-6 (7-3) to set up a third set superbreaker 10-7 win to take the match.
Brianne Lauria also fought back from dropping the first set 1-6. The Freshman won the second set in convincing fashion 6-4 but went on to narrowly lose in a third set superbreaker 10-4.
Freshmen Adrianne Alfonso showed some solid moments despite losing 6-3, 6-4 at fifth singles.
The Pioneers will be back in action on Thursday Oct. 13th to make up the match at Monmouth, which was postponed on Sept. 29th due to rain.
