St. Francis Brooklyn Edges Men's Soccer, 2-0.

FAIRFIELD, Conn.—The Sacred Heart men's soccer team fell in their Northeast Conference opener to St. Francis Brooklyn, 2-0 on Friday afternoon.

The Terriers (5-4-2) outshot the Pioneers (2-6-2) 16 to six in the match. Freshman keeper Robert Strain (Danbury, Conn.) made six saves on the afternoon. Junior Ezra Siyadhuba (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) led the Pioneers with wo shots. St. Francis got their lone tally of the half in the 29th minute off a header pass by Collyns Laokandi to Yussuf Olajide who chipped it in from five feet out. After much back and forth in the second half, The Terriers sealed the game in the 83rd minute with Dominick Falanga's shot from 15 yards out.

Sacred Heart is back on the pitch Sunday October 9 against Saint Francis, kickoff is set for 12:00pm.

First Half

- Dylan Santos misses just high of the goal with the Pioneers first shot.

- Olajide's chip in gets the Terriers on the board first in the 29th minute.

- Strain makes the save on rifle of a shot by Leonard Kirschner in the 34th minute. 

Second Half

- Strain makes another save on header attempt by Faouzi Taieb.

- Falanga scores in the 83rd minute to seal the game for St. Francis.
