DELMAR, FL (FEBRUARY 5, 2016)--The Sacred Heart University bowling team took second place at the Wildcat Invitational, after going 7-2 over the weekend. Courtney McGinn, Lauren Hoffman, and Corrine Maher finished in the top ten amongst individual bowlers. Maher not only led the Pioneers, but finished atop the individual field averaging a 19.98 pins per frame.
The Pioneers will continue their season this weekend, February 12-14, at the Golden Bear Classic in Reading, Pa.

- Two Pioneers bowled a 200+ game; Hoffman 220, Amanda Tyrrell 208
Match 3:
- SHU 963 - Florida A&M 830
- Two Pioneers had had a 200-plus game; Maher tossed her best game of the weekend shooting 244, and Tyrrell recorded a 219 game
Match 4:
- SHU 1035 - Bethune-Cookman 921
- Three Pioneers had 200+ games; Hoffman 245, Tyrrell 225, Casey Smith 202
Sunday (Match Play Best 4-of-7)
- The Pioneers started off Sunday's match play as the No. 1 seed. They went up against host school Bethune-Cookman in the first match winning the first game, but then slipping behind in the next two. They came out on top winning the last three games to advance to the second round where they had a bye
- After Bethune-Cookman downed Alabama State in the second round, Sacred Heart geared up for a rematch against its host in the title match. They went back-and-forth with Bethune-Cookman with the match even at two games each after four, but the Pioneers dropped the fifth and sixth game falling to second place overall
