Men's Soccer Releases 2016 Schedule

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart men's soccer team announced its 2016 schedule on Tuesday. The Pioneers will play nine home games this season, with the season opener coming on Sept. 14 against Saint Peter's.

Some other schedule notes:

- The Pioneers open the season with four consecutive road fixtures, beginning on August 30 at Iona.

- SHU will play in a weekend tournament at Vermont Sept. 2 and 4, taking on the host Catamounts as well as Bucknell.

- Men's Soccer opens a five-game homestand on Sept. 21 against Holy Cross, taking on Stony Brook (Sept. 24) and Army West Point (Sept. 27) as well.

- The Pioneers open Northeast Conference play Oct. 7 and 9 against St. Francis Brooklyn and Saint Francis U, respectively.

- SHU also has a three-game homestand in late October and into November against Robert Morris (Oct. 23), Bryant (Oct. 28) and Columbia (Nov. 1) in the home finale.
