
Women's Soccer Ends in a 0-0 Draw against VCU.

RICHMOND, Va.—The Sacred Heart women's soccer team (1-2-2) drew their second draw of the season, ending with a 0-0 tie in double overtime against VCU (1-2-1) on Friday night.
The Pioneers offense shot a season high 11 shots in the contest, and closed out with four in the second and final overtime. Freshman Olivia Crema (Litchfield, N.H.) led with had three shots on goal. Against a VCU offense that shot the ball 20 times, sophomore goalkeeper Nicole Sambuco (Hauppauge, N.Y.) tied a career high with eight saves. Both teams tied with five corner kicks on the game.
Sacred Heart will conclude its trip at the VCU Invitational against Richmond on Sunday September 4 at 12:00pm.
First Half
- Sambuco picked up her first save early, snagging Megan Dell's shot at the 1:51 mark.
- DaSilva has her shot saved by VCU keeper, Sanderson in the 7th minute.
Second Half
- Emily Dawidczyk shot hits off the post at the 46th minute.
- Sambuco gets her last save of regulation at the 86th minute.
- Crema fires Sacred Heart's last shot of regulation at the 88th minute, it was saved by Sanderson.
First OT
- DaSilva had the lone shot of overtime for the Pioneers at the 91:14 mark, but was saved by Sanderson.
Second OT
- Rhone O'Hara had her lone shot of the game also saved by Sanderson at the 102nd minute.
- Dawidcyzk takes Sacred Heart's final shot wide at the 105th minute.
- Sambuco picks up a big last save on Sarah Gibson's shot in the final thirty seconds of the second overtime.
