
SHU falls to Morrisville 2-1

Shelton, Conn. – Olivia Bryant scored the Pioneers only goal on Wednesday as the Sacred Heart (12-8-1) women's hockey team fell 2-1 to Morrisville State (14-2-0).
It was Sacred Heart that opened the scoring in the first period through Bryant at the 19:55 mark assisted by Katie Stueve and Taylor Moreland off the power play.
The Pioneers would limit Morrisville to only four shots and 13 of their own in the second period to hold on to the lead going into the third period.
Morrisville responded at 1:04 of the third period from Jessica Ujcik to tie the game at 1-1.
In a very even third period, Morrisville was able to find the winning goal through Claire Newman at the 4:44 mark which was enough to win 2-1.
The Pioneers will be back in action on Friday January, 13th hosting St. Michaels at 7:00 PM.
