
SHU Win's 9-0 Vs. Lebanon Valley

Shelton, Conn. – Sacred Heart women's ice hockey won 9-0 against Lebanon Valley on Tuesday afternoon at thee Sports Center Of Connecticut. The Pioneers improved to 15-3, while the Dutchmen now sit at 2-7-2.
The two teams were playing solid defense for the majority of the opening period until SHU scored two goals towards the end of the period, with tallies from Olivia Bryant and forward Elizabeth Collins, as the Pioneers went into the first intermission with a 2-0 advantage.
In the second period, SHU notched five goals. Collins would get her second of the game, assisted by Taylor Moreland and Lilly Cleary. Cleary added a forth for the Pioneers, assisted by Brittini Mingoia. Less than a minute later Mingoia scored SHU's fifth, assisted by Bryant and Maddie Bishop. Moreland added SHU's sixth again combining with Cleary and Carly Radovich for the assists. Victoria Grimmer scored the last goal of the second period, assisted by Bishop to give the Pioneers a 7-0 lead going into the thrid period.
After contributiung with two assists Bishop would get her name on the scoresheet for SHU's eigth goal with assists coming from Grimmer and Theresa Hulse. Grimmer was again involved getting her second of the game at the 15:33 mark to complete the scoring for the Pioneers 9-0 win
Starting goalie Kayla Walewski earned the win after making two saves for the shutout. Jill Moffatt made 59 saves or Lebanon Valley.
The Pioneers are back in action Friday, Jan. 12 against St. Michaels at 7:05 pm.
