Late Goal By Bryant Gives Bulldogs 1-0 Win Over Pioneers

FAIRFIELD, Conn.- The Sacred Heart University Men's Soccer team fell to Bryant by a final score of 1-0 in a hard fought defensive battle. The team returns to action Friday Oct. 26 when the team faces off against Central Connecticut State. Game-time is set for 7:00 p.m.

Both sides would have an even amount of shots in the first half as SHU would be able to fire off eight while Bryant would be able to attempt seven. Senior Oscar Curras would come close to scoring the opening goal of the game as he would fire a shot off at 8:37 but would be saved the goalie to keep the game scoreless at 0-0. Both teams would attempt to slip a goal passed the goal tenders but would be unable to keeping the score at 0-0 after the first half. 

The Pioneers would try to score the first goal of the game as Zander Hyltoft would fire off a shot at 63:45 but an impressive save by the Bryant goalie would keep the score 0-0. The lone goal of the game would come at 73:23 as Ben Williams would find the back of the net off a corner kick by Felipe Cypriano to give the Bulldogs the 1-0 lead and the eventual game winner. SHU will now aim to wrap up the season on a high note as they have three games remaining all against NEC rivals.
