QUEENS, N.Y. - A night full of emotions and defense was on full display on Sunday evening as the Sacred Heart University men's soccer team dropped a hard-fought 2-1 decision to non-conference opponent St. John's in Queens, N.Y.

How it Happened:
After a Red Storm goal in the 27th minute, the Pioneers were gifted a golden opportunity. In the 31st minute, St. John's player received a red card, giving SHU a man advantage.
Sacred Heart played a man-up for 26 minutes until Ivan Marques was given a red card to have a rare 10-on-10 for the remainder of the match. Just before Marques was sent off, the Red Storm took a 2-0 lead with a 56th-minute strike.
The Pios responded in the 63rd minute as Ivan Morcillo had a beautiful left-footed cross right to Brady Poor who was standing right in front of the net and scored with the right foot to cut the lead in half. However, Poor's goal proved to not be enough, as St. John's held on for the home win.
