Box Score NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Sacred Heart University field hockey team defeated NEC-foe Merrimack at home, 4-0, Sunday afternoon at Johnson Field. Makenna Crawford, Bridget Kelly, Kayla Kruk and Bridget LaRiccia tallied a goal apiece, while goalkeeper Hailey Power tallied 11 saves en route to the third shutout of her career.
With the win, the Pioneers improve to 2-11 on the season and 1-1 in the NEC, while the Warriors fall to 2-10 on the season with the loss and 1-2 in the NEC. SHU will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 18 when the Pioneers play host to Bryant at 7 p.m. at Johnson Field.
