His most-recent accolade comes on the heels of a performance that saw him pile up the yardage as the receiver finished with seven catches for 139 yards (19.9 yards per catch) and 1 TD while adding 11 yards rushing on two carries in a 38-24 loss to the Quakers. Chambers put on the afterburners with a season-long 74-yard touchdown on a slant pattern that cut the deficit to 31-24 in the fourth quarter as the Pioneers worked their way back from a 24-3 first half deficit. Chambers continues to lead all FCS freshman in receiving yards per game (93.8) and receiving touchdowns (six) while sitting second in receptions per game (5.2).
Chambers' 139 receiving yards was the highest single-game total for any player in the NEC in Week 7 and the fourth-highest of the season by a league player. For the season, Chambers owns three of the five-highest single-game receiving performances in the NEC through seven weeks of the 2019 season.
The Pioneers and Chambers are back in action with a huge Family Weekend showdown on Saturday against defending NEC Champion Duquesne. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 PM from Campus Field. The game can also be seen live on ESPN3.
