
Navarro and Toko Named to All-NEC Teams

SOMERSET, N.J.- Sacred Heart University Men's Soccer sophomore Segundo Navarro and junior Yoann Toko each received All-NEC honors as announced by the conference tonight. Navarro was named to All-NEC Second Team while Toko was named to the All-NEC Rookie Team.
Navarro tallied eight of the teams nine goals throughout the season setting a career high for the sophomore from Spain. He led the Pioneers in points and goals as well as was third in the NEC in goals. On Oct. 18 he tallied the second hattrick in SHU history against Mount Saint Mary's in which his three goals helped propel the Pioneers to 3-1 victory. Navarro also led the conference in shots taken with 85 as well as shots per game with 5.31. Navarro was named NEC Player of the Week on Oct. 22 for his impressive hattrick.
Toko had strong defensive play for the Pioneers in his first collegiate season at SHU. The Frenchman played in 13 games for SHU and was a crucial part of the Pioneers defense. He made numerous stops preventing the opponents from scoring to aid in the Pioneers victories over the year.
