Men's Volleyball Captures Two Matches Saturday

The Sacred Heart University men's volleyball team posted two wins on Saturday, sweeping St. Joseph's (LI) and defeating Arcadia 3-1. The wins improve the Pioneers to 3-0 on the season
The Pioneers return to action on January 31 when they host EIVA foe Harvard at 6:00 pm at the Pitt Center.
The St. Joseph's Match
- SHU won 25-15, 27-25, 25-22
- Connor Mahony notched a match-best 13 kills, without an error and hit .448
- Mahony also had eight digs
- Zak Kakos led all players with 16 digs in the match
- Timothy McIntosh record 11 kills and Rob Chatterton notched 10
- The Pioneers recorded 8.0 blocks, led by the seven of Chatterton
- Ramiro Balaguer handed out 38 assists
The Arcadia Match
- The Pioneers won 25-20, 23-25, 25-15, 25-20
- Mahony again led the effort, with 12 kills and nine digs
- Calin Butler also had 12 kills
- Chatterton finished the match with six blocks and four kills
- Balaguer handed out 36 assists to go along with four digs and two kills
