FAIRFIELD, Conn.- The Pioneers gained some offensive power over the semester break as Sacred Heart University men's ice hockey head coach CJ Marottolo announced the addition of first-year forward Cody Hoban to the team for the remainder of the 2020-21 season.
"We are excited to add Cody to our group" stated Marottolo. "He is a smart, resourceful player who has had success at every level he has played."
The local Guilford, Conn. product played for the NAHL (North American Hockey League) team Danbury Hat Tricks where he tallied a goal and five assists in his first season in junior hockey.
Prior to playing for the Hat Tricks, Hoban helped the Loomis Chaffee School win the NEPSAC Large School Championship last March. In the 23 games he played in the team's championship season, he posted 19 goals, 18 assists for 37 points.
Sacred Heart is back on the ice Saturday when it hosts Army West Point at 5 pm in its home opener. The game can be viewed on FloSports.
