NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Sacred Heart women's fencing team made a trip to Yale on Saturday and fell to the Ivy League power, 23-4, at the Payne Whitney Gymnasium.

Sophie Witek continues to thrive in the sabre as she went 3-0, picking up three of the four total points scored for the Pioneers against the Bulldogs. As a team, SHU lost to Yale 6-3 in the sabre, 8-1 in the epee and 9-0 in the foil.

The Pioneers are back in action on Sunday, February 9 with the NFC Meet #3 hosted by Tufts in Boston.
