Gaberkorn Represents Pios at NCAA Regional Championships

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. – Senior Epeeist Nadia Gaberkorn capped off her collegiate career with an appearance in the semifinals of the NCAA Regional Championships hosted by Vassar College.
The Marlboro, N.J. native began the day in the play in round where she advanced with a 2-2 finish. In first round action, Gaberkorn upper her tempo to finish with a dominant 4-2 performance, which included a win over First Team All-American Ketki Ketkar from Cornell. After battling adversity throughout, Gaberkorn saw her day come to an end with a 1-5 finish in the semifinals.
"I am extremely proud of not only Nadia's fencing today but her growth as an athlete and leader over the past four years as she closed out her final NCAA competition," said head coach Khristopher White. "It was not the result we wanted, but I am confident that lessons learned over her career at SHU will help push her forward through any adversity she faces in her professional career."
