
Cotton Named to Hobey Baker Top Ten Finalist List

ST. PAUL, Minn.- Sacred Heart University Men's Ice Hockey senior center Jason Cotton was named to the Top Ten List of Finalists for the prestigious Hobey Baker Award which gets awarded to the top player in collegiate division one hockey.
"I can't think of a better recipient of this year's Hobey Baker award than Jason Cotton. He is a leader on the ice and away from the ice in how he leads his life with a moral compass and integrity in all that he does." Head Coach CJ Marottolo on Cotton reaching the top 10 in Hobey Baker voting.
Cotton was one of the most prolific scorers in Atlantic Hockey this season. He was tied for fourth in point scoring (.96) in the conference and tenth in the nation in goal scoring at .59 goals a game. He was by far the best overall scorer, scoring three power play goals, three shorthanded goals, three game-winning goals and a hat trick this season. Cotton currently has played 118 career games with 41 goals and 40 assists at SHU. He racked up a career high 20 goals alonside 17 assists for 37 points.
