
21 Members of Men's Ice Hockey Named to Atlantic Hockey All-Academic Team

WINTHROP, MA.— The Sacred Heart University men's hockey program had 21 student-athletes named to the 2019-20 Atlantic Hockey All-Academic Team on Tuesday as announced by the conference.
Three seniors which featured co-captain Jason Cotton, Vito Bavaro, and Austin McIlmurray each picked up an honor. Meanwhile a total of eight juniors picked up a spot on the All-Academic team whom consists of co-captain Marc Johnstone, alternate captains Matt Tugnutt, and Maxx Luukko as well as Michael Gilroy, Marcus Joseph, Marcel Godbout, Alex Bates and Evan Wisocky.
Sophomores Ryan Steele, Josh Benson and Nick Boyagian tally the three second-years on the list while first-years, Braeden Tuck, Jeppe Urup, Daniel Petrick, Kevin Lombardi, Patrick Dawson, Luke Lush and Tim Clifton earn their first honors.
In all, a total 216 student-athletes were named to the All-Academic Team honors this season. To qualify for the Atlantic Hockey All-Academic Team, an individual must post a 3.0 GPA or better in all academic semesters for which his team was actively competing.
