SYOSSET, N.Y. — After being on a hiatus for 44 days due to COVID-19, the Sacred Heart University women's ice hockey program hit the ice for its third season matchup at LIU, where the Pioneers fell to its conference rival, 4-1, on Wednesday.

• This is the team's first game since December 14 at Quinnipiac during their season-opening series.
• SHU picked up its lone score in the second period during the power-play, when sophomore Alexa Ocel drove home her first goal of the season, assisted by first-years Paige McNeil and Erin Flemming.
• The final goal came from the Sharks in the last 40 seconds of the third period.
• Sacred Heart missed out on several scoring opportunities, going 1-for-8 on the power play.
