
Guidi Earns First NEWHA Defensive Player of the Week Honor

Nicole Guidi tied career-best seven blocks at Clarkson on September 25
WINTHROP, Mass. — For the first time in her career, Sacred Heart University women's ice hockey defender Nicole Guidi earned NEWHA Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
In the first three contests of the season, the senior has blocked nine shots including a career-high seven at Clarkson. Guidi recorded an assist off co-captain Anna Klein's power play goal early in the final period in the 7-0 shutout of Saint Michael's on Saturday.
Klein claimed an honorable mention for Player of the Week, while first-year goalkeeper Carly Greene snagged two honor roll spots for Rookie and Goaltender of the Week.
The Pioneers are on the road for their first conference game at Post on October 8 at 4 p.m.
