
Sokol & Cuddahy Earn CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

Grad students are eligible for Academic All-America
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Over their career, Sacred Heart University's Josh Sokol and Ed Cuddahy have earned numerous accolades for their efforts on the football field. Thursday they were recognized for their work in the classroom with a spot on the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District One honors.
Both are eligible for Academic All-America accolades. In order to be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be a starter or significant reserve with at least a 3.30 grade point average and a sophomore.
In graduate school studying criminal justice, Sokol has a 4.0 GPA. It's the second year he's earned Academic All-District accolades to go along with five spots on the NEC Commissioner's Honor Roll. A two-year team captain, the Hopkington, Mass. native has played in 39 games during his career and been an anchor to one of the top rushing attacks in the country.
Cuddahy is studying finance and investment management where he has a 3.79 GPA. He has been on the NEC Academic Honor Roll all five years of his career. The Leominster, Mass. product has 31 catches in 38 contests. He had a career-best five receptions in the spring FCS playoff game against Delaware. This year versus Central Connecticut State he pulled in a career-long 31-yard reception.
Sacred Heart wraps up the regular season Saturday at LIU in a 12 p.m. contest.
