The Pioneers lost the second game in the Nutmeg Classic against Yale.
STORRS, Conn. — In the consolation game of the Nutmeg Classic, the Sacred Heart University women's ice hockey team fell, 4-1, against Yale on Saturday. This was the first Pioneers loss since they took on the Bulldogs over a month ago.
This visiting team scored twice in the first before first-year Kerryn O'Connell drilled one past the goalkeeper off the stick of fellow newcomer Katie Keenan. Keenan leads the class of 2025 with three assists and fifth overall on the team.
In the cage, Frankie Sanchez had a season-high 60 saves about the Bulldogs despite a strong first and third period with 24 and 26 shots.
The Red & White continue its non-conference contests as they travel to Johnson and Wales on December 3, with a 6 p.m. puck drop.
