WEST POINT, NY — The Sacred Heart University men's tennis team dropped their season opener at Army West Point, 6-1, on Saturday. The Pioneers are back on the Wednesday to take on St. John's at 12:00 p.m.

Junior William Wibmer racked in the only win for SHU against Army's A.J. Woodman who retired after the second set at number one singles. Cameron Goldstein was edged in the first set tiebreaker against David Gorsehin at number three before dropping the second set 6-2. The tandem of Tyler Lowe and Lucca Casalduc Pla narrowly lost their number three doubles match, 7-5.
