HAMDEN, Conn. — The Sacred Heart University men's tennis team competed in day one of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Masters Tournament hosted by Quinnipiac University from October 3–5 at the QU Tennis Courts.
Freshman
Martin Macias and senior
Frederick McRae each earned opening-round victories before falling in the Round of 16. Macias posted a 6-1, 6-3 singles win over Merrimack's Trey Pleasant, while McRae defeated Fairfield's Diego Alcala in singles action, 7-5, 6-4.
The Pioneers return to action from October 9 to 12, when they compete at the ITA Regionals hosted by Harvard University.
