Men's Tennis Suffers Setback at Marist

NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. — The Sacred Heart men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision on the road against Marist on Sunday at SportsPlex New Windsor.
The Pioneers earned a strong win at No. 3 doubles thanks to Vayo Rodriguez & Brennan Hart-Nova, but Marist secured the doubles point with victories at the No. 1 and No. 2 to take an early 1-0 lead.
In singles play, Sacred Heart continued to battle across the lineup but fell in four matches. The Pioneers' two points came in impressive fashion, as Frederick McRae picked up a gritty three-set win at No. 2 singles, while Martin Macias followed with a hard-fought three-set victory at No. 5.
The Pioneers return home on Wednesday to host Fairfield at the Tennis Club of Trumbull. First serve is scheduled for 11:15 a.m.
