
Boston College Defeats Men's Fencing 18-9 in Both Rounds

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Sacred Heart University men's fencing program was defeatd by Boston College on Saturday falling 18-9 in both rounds.
Round 1:
- First-year Vijay Ganta brought one point to SHU's 8-1 sabre defeat.
- Juniors Tomas Koeck and Petar Janicijevic Agatonovic, both contributed two points and Lawrence Tan added another as part of the 5-4 victory in the foil event.
- The Eagles took the epee, 6-3, where seniors Troy Kapitzke and Nicolo Cerminara accounted for all three points.
Round 2:
- The Eagles garnered a 5-4 victory in the sabre, with SHU's Ganta and first-year Domenic Bartolo both getting two victories under their belts.
- Tan earned two points from his three match ups, in the Pioneers 6-3 lost, with sophomore Trent Miller earning the final victory.
- Senior Cameron Silver provided the only points for SHU in the 7-2 defeat, with two of his three epee match ups.
Up Next:
- Sacred Heart travels to Madison, NJ on February 21 to face Drew University.
