Box Score FLUSHING MEADOWS, N.Y. — The Sacred Heart University men's tennis team dropped, 6-1, in St. Francis Brooklyn's season opener on Friday. The Pioneers fall to 0-5 overall and 0-3 in the league, while the Terriers improve to 1-0 on the season and in the conference.
The number two duo of Lefteri Apostolou and Tyler Lowe tallied the first point in doubles play, but St. Francis Brooklyn came out on top in the final two matches. The first-year and junior combo are currently 2-0 on the season as partners and both are 3-3 overall in doubles.
Lucca Casalduc Pla garnered back-to-back singles victories, after a 7-6 (6), 6-4 win at number five singles.
The Pioneers look to rebound from the loss on Sunday, March 21 when they host Wagner. The match is set to begin at 5:30 p.m.
