Box Score TRUMBULL, Conn. — With its second home meet in a row, the Sacred Heart University men's tennis program opened Northeast Conference action with a 6-1 loss to Fairleigh Dickinson on Monday.
The Pioneers number three doubles William Wibmer and Tyler Lowe bested the Knights 6-3, but FDU won the next two partners' matchups.
Fairleigh Dickinson took the first two singles until first-year Lefteri Apostolou defeated Moric Budinszky at number four singles for his first solo career win.
William Wibmer and Cameron Goldstein battled tough to push three sets of action, but the Knights took the points.
The Pioneers continue its conference play at Merrimack at 6:45 p.m. on March 13.
