Persson Captures NEC Player and Rookie of the Week Honors

SOMERSET, N.J.- Sacred Heart University men's soccer freshman forward Olliver Persson was named Northeast Conference Player and Rookie of the Week for his play in yesterday's 2-0 victory over Central Connecticut State. This is the first time the freshman has been named Player and Rookie of the Week in his career.
Persson tallied the two goals which gave the Pioneers their first win of the season in the 2-0 victory over Central Connecticut State on Monday. The freshman currently leads the Pioneers in goals with three on the year while also recording one assist for a team-leading seven points.
Senior goalie Josh Inkel was also named a prime performer for his shutout performance against the Blue Devils. In the 2-0 victory, he tallied three saves on the three shots on goal attempted by Central Connecticut State.
