Box Score 2 NEW BRITAIN, Conn.- Late inning comebacks by Central Connecticut State led to the Sacred Heart University softball team dropping its doubleheader this afternoon 4-3 in both games.

Of Note
- Neither team would get on the board until the bottom of the fourth inning when CCSU would score the opening run off a throwing error.
- SHU answered back as junior Amy Petrovich continued her hot hitting with a three-run home-run to left field in the top of the sixth inning to put SHU ahead 3-1.
- The Blue Devils were able to answer back though in the bottom of the inning with a two-run home run followed by a game-winning solo homer in the bottom of the seventh to give CCSU the 4-3 victory.

Of Note
- The second game started out perfect for the Pioneers as junior Alyssa Gonzalez opened up the top of the first with a two-run home run for her seventh of the year to put the Pioneers ahead 2-0.
- SHU then would add onto their lead with a solo home-run to left-center by first-year Emily Carroll to put the Pioneers in a comfortable 3-0 lead.
- CCSU answered all in the sixth inning as a pair of two-RBI doubles and an RBI single to left pulled the Blue Devils to the comeback 4-3 victory.
- Sophomore Olivia Vadas had a dominant six innings pitched allowing just four hits and striking out nine.
