Box Score NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Needing a win to keep its hopes alive for a spot in the Northeast Conference tournament, the Sacred Heart University women's lacrosse team came through. The Pioneers went on the road to topple Central Connecticut State, 14-4, on Wednesday.

Sacred Heart grabbed control of the game right away, jumping out to a 5-0 run in the first eight minutes as five different players scored a goal.
Lydia Werlau scored back-to-back goals as part of a 4-0 run to end the half with an 11-3 halftime margin.
The Brewster, NY, native scored the first two goals of the second half to extend Sacred Heart's lead to 13-3. Her game-high five goals tied a season-high.
Rookie Molly Mineo scored in the final minute for her first collegiate goal.
The Pioneers had a 33-22 advantage in shots and forced the Blue Devils into 27 turnovers.
