Pioneers & Hawks End in a Draw
FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The match between the Sacred Heart University men's soccer team and Monmouth ended in a 0-0 draw on Wednesday.
The Pioneers move to 0-4-2 while the Hawks are now 2-1-2. The draw is the second-straight for Sacred Heart after posting a 1-1 decision with Hartford on Saturday.
Goalkeeper Justin Siegel stopped all eight shots he faced. The junior, made two saves on Monmouth free kicks in the second overtime
Albion Bacaj, Drew David and Etienne Murugarren notched one shot on goal apiece. Bacaj got a shot on frame in thea final two minutes, but was turned away by Monmouth goalkeeper Sean Murray.
The Pioneer took 12 shots while the Hawks tallied 35.
Sacred Heart will travel to Saint Peter's on Saturday at 2 p.m.
