Women’s ice hockey holds last full-year conference title in 2019-20 season
WINTHROP, Mass. — The Sacred Heart University women's ice hockey team received one first-place vote as they were picked to finish second in the NEWHA Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the conference on Friday.
LIU grabbed the top spot with five first-place tallies, Franklin Pierce, Saint Anselm, Saint Michael's and Post trailed SHU as they rounded out the six-team poll.
In his 18th season as head coach, Thomas O'Malley welcomes six new skaters and a rookie goalie to the veteran roster. In 2019-20, the Red & White rattled off a 21-11 overall record including an 18-2 mark in league play that led to a NEWHA Regular Season Championship.
