Box Score 2 MIDDLETOWN, Conn.— The Sacred Heart University men's tennis team had a successful weekend at the Wesleyan Invitational. The Pioneers went 14-11 in singles and 5-2 in doubles.
Sophomore duo
Darius Eftekhar and
Matyas Vencl won the B doubles flight round. The pair had a bye round before earning their quarterfinals victory over Amherst's Micah Elias and Georgios Chaidemenos, 8-3. Eftekar and Vencl swept Bowdoin's Geoffrey Golan and Mick Tamas in a 8-3 victory in the semifinals. The pair then went on to win the championship title with a score of 8-4 against Babson's Parker Law and Wesley Zhang.
In singles, junior
Lefteri Apostolou advanced to the finals of the Single A Draw. The Barquisimeto, Venezuela native fell in the championship, 6-4, 7-5, to Middlebury's Julian Wu. Graduate students

Alberto Mello advanced to the semifinals of the Singles B Draw. Graduate students

Sacred Heart will have a four-month hiatus before beginning the spring season at Army on Jan. 29.
