Smith Named NEWHA Rookie of the Week

FAIRFIELD, Conn -- Kailey Smith was recognized by NEWHA as Rookie of the Week for her play in three conference games last week against Post and Saint Anselm. It is Smith's first time winning NEWHA honors.
Across three games last week, Smith racked up four points, including three assists, as Sacred Heart picked up two NEWHA victories, the first against Post in a 3-0 win on Tuesday and the last versus Saint Anselmin a 6-3 win on Friday. She scored the game-winner at Post before handing out two assists against the Hawks in Manchester, N.H.
Smith joins Molly Elmore and Nicole Guidi as Sacred Heart players to receive NEWHA awards on the young season. The Pioneers are back in NEWHA action on Oct. 28 and 29 as they welcome Saint Anselm to The Rinks in Shelton, Conn.
