Joughin Scores, Lush Makes 25 Saves
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – For the second straight night, the Pioneers fell in a close game with an empty-netter at the conclusion. First-place RIT (10-2, 9-1 AH), which ended SHU's five-game unbeaten string last night the same way, handed the visitors another 3-1 loss.
The Tigers had a 28-20 advantage in shots while converting a pair of power plays.
Marcus Joughin had the Pioneer tally on a power play in the first period that gave Sacred Heart a lead. Luke Lush stopped 25 shots as SHU dropped to 6-4-1, 6-3-1.
The Pios have a chance to get back in the win column next Thursday night when Merrimack comes to Bridgeport.
