NEW HAVEN, Conn.— Sacred Heart women's track and field had a pair of first-place finishes at the Yale University Season Opener on Saturday.
Angela Kaiser and
Kaylee Stenderowicz led the Pioneers with the team's top performances.
Kaiser was first overall in the 3000m as she finished in 10:25.63. Stenderowicz had her first-place finish in the triple jump at 11.92m.
In the pole vault,
Jenna Engels and
Jennifer Pasram tied for second at 3.35m.
Megan Schneider had a second-place finish in the 800m as she crossed the line at 2:25.92.
Ava Hill finished in third place in the 1000m with a 3:40.51 time.
The Pioneers had a trio of fourth-place finishers, as
Sarah Mitchell was fourth in the shot put at 11.42m,
Ava Coscia was fourth in the high jump at 1.55m, and
Nicole Szilagyi was fourth in the 60m hurdles at 9.35.
Rounding out top-five performances for the Pioneers were
Erin Lavelle in the triple jump at 10.71m and
Kelly Parker in the mile at 5:29.44.
Prior to the Yale Season Opener,
Madeline Archangelo competed in the URI Pathathlon Qualifier, where she was fourth overall with 3167 points.
The Pioneers will be back in action on Friday, January 6th, at the US Military Academy West Point Open.
